During the 10-day festival, you’ll find a variety of entertainment, food and fun on the Wurstfest Grounds in Landa Park and many special events throughout New Braunfels and Comal County. The following information is provided to help answer the many questions our visitors have. Additional information can be obtained from the Wurstfest Association, Post Office Box 310309, New Braunfels, Texas 78131-0309. Call 830/625-9167, or toll free 1-800-221-4369 from anywhere in the United States. Visit our website at www.wurstfest.com. HOURS and SCHEDULE: Wurstfest opens on weekdays at 5 pm, and Saturdays and Sundays at 11 am. Wurstfest closes at 12 Midnight on Thursday and Fridays, 11 pm Sunday through Wednesday, and 1 am on Saturdays and at 10 pm on the last Sunday. ADMISSIONS: Festival admission is $8.00 ($6.00 if purchased by Thursday, November 2) and includes access to all entertainment areas including the Wursthalle. Children 12 and under are admitted free. For group rate information and special day discounts, call 830/625-9167 or 1-800-221-4369. Admission is for the entire day. If you wish to leave the grounds and return later that same day, please be sure to have your hand stamped at the gate. FOOD and DRINK: Food and drinks are sold throughout the grounds. Visitors are prohibited from bringing ice chests, beer or wine onto the festival grounds. PROPER ATTIRE: Shirts and shoes are required attire for festival patrons. RAIN: Wurstfest continues rain or shine, and no rain dates are scheduled. PARKING: Parking in the area adjacent to the festival grounds is limited. A shuttle service may be available from local hotel, motel and resort facilities, as well as from some of the major attractions. HANDICAP FACILITIES: Grounds are handicap accessible. Handicap parking is available in both the Knights of Columbus and Lions Club parking lots located on Landa Street across from Wurstfest Gate #1 and inside Landa Park on Elizabeth Street across from Gate #3. PETS and SERVICE ANIMALS: No pets other than service animals are allowed on the Wurstfest Grounds. FIRST AID: Emergency Medical Technicians are on duty on the festival grounds at all times. The First Aid Station is located on the south side of the Grosse Zelt (The Big Tent). Check the map for the exact location. LOST PEOPLE: A lost people post is located at the Information Booth. Members of the Wurstfest Association are on duty to provide assistance. ATM $$$: An automatic teller machine is also located on the south side of Das Grosse Zelt (The Big Tent). The machine accepts Visa, Master Card, Diners Club, Discover, American Express and all other Pulse cards.

New Braunfels Conservation Society Projects - Tour of Conservation Plaza - Open 10am-3pm daily/Sundays 12noon-3pm during Wurstfest - Located at 1300 Church Hill Drive. Tour a historic German village consisting of 14 restored and furnished structures (circa 1849-1870) moved to preserve the German heritage. Exhibit of 500 aprons (circa 1900 forward). Ferdinand Jakob Lindheimer (1801-1879) was the “Father of Texas Botany” and the newspaper editor of the Herald-Zeitung. A “1900’s” equipped working barbershop containing hundreds of hand-carved miniature circus animals and figures; pictures made from rocks and antique toys. Admission: $1.50-Adults/$.50-Children. Heritage Society of New Braunfels Projects - Heritage Village - Museum of Texas Handmade Furniture - Open 1pm-4pm daily during Wurstfest - Located at 1370 Church Hill Drive, adjacent to Conservation Plaza. Tour historic farm house furnished with a collection of German-Texan handmade Biedermeier furniture. Also tour a cabinet shop, log cabin and summer kitchen. The Sophienburg-New Braunfels Archives & Museum of History - 401 West Coll Street. Open 10am-4pm daily/Monday-Saturday during Wurstfest. Museum relates the history through the display of artifacts and displays of early life in New Braunfels. The Archives preserves the written history of the area through thousands of collections of personal and public documents. Sophie’s Shop – features German made Christmas items and is open year round. Old Time Melodrama - Circle Arts Theatre located next door to the Wursthalle. “The Wurst Little Boarhouse in Texas” is a parody on “The Three Little Pigs” and lasts an hour, beginning with sing-along, popcorn to throw at the villain and has audience participation with boos and cheers. Modern treatment of old-time melodrama with hero, villain and damsel in distress and marks their 35th year. (1) “City of a Prince” located on South Castell Avenue and West San Antonio Street, depicts the German colonization and founding of New Braunfels on March 21, 1845. (2) “A Tribute to Ferdinand Lindheimer” located on the L.A. Hoffmann Building at 165 South Seguin Avenue, honors the 200th birthday celebration of a man considered to be the Father of Texas Botany, newspaper editor-publisher, tour guide, medicine man, soldier and educator born on May 21, 1801. (3) “The Lure of the Springs” located on the Landa Park Recreation Building portrays the importance and effect of the Comal Springs on prehistoric animals, native American Indians, El Camino Real (Conquistadors and Missionaries) farming and ranching, diverse ethnic groups of Mexican, African American and German descent plus the beginning of the Landa Industries in this community. (4) “New Braunfels Gemütlichkeit” located at 148 South Castell on the side of the Friesenhaus German Restaurant and Bakery pays tribute to Krause’s Café and New Braunfels German tradition of sausage, beer and wine, and bakery goods.
